StarChef.NET is entirely web-based and can be accessed any-time from any Internet-enabled location. Implementation and maintenance costs are kept to a minimum as there is no need to install software components on client PCs. The nutritional information can be manually entered or imported directly from the McCance and Widdowson and US Department of Agriculture (USDA) data sources. Data published by McCance and Widdowson and the USDA is recognised by nutritionists worldwide as the defacto standard reference for nutritional information.

StarChef.NET automatically calculates the nutritional value of your recipes using the information that has been defined for the recipe's ingredients. The nutritional module extends to StarChef.NET menu cycles, giving you the ability to perform complete nutritional analysis for your entire daily menu or weekly menu cycle. This powerful facility allows you to compare the nutritional composition of a menu against recognised dietary standards.

The StarChef.NET nutritional module has been extended to allow users to record the presence of common intolerances within recipes and ingredients, such as nuts, shell fish, gluten, etc. The intolerance data can also be used to record whether a recipe is suitable for people with specific dietary requirements and special needs.

Recipe Management

StarChef.NET offers an extensive set of recipe management features that you can use to create an online database of comprehensive recipe information for your business.

Aside from the powerful recipe costing and nutritional analysis capabilities, StarChef.NET allows users to record their recipe method, mise en place and HACCP steps. Any number of pictures can be linked to each recipe.
Recipes can be scaled up or down by a specified number of servings.

Menu Cycles

StarChef.NET provides full and comprehensive support for the creation of menu cycles. Menu cycles can be any number of weeks in duration.  Users can specify start and end dates for each menu cycle or choose to create a rolling cycle that continues indefinitely.
